After School Supervisor
We are looking to hire enthusiastic, energetic, and caring individuals for the position of After School Supervisor. We are seeking positive and responsible team members to support and engage children during our afterschool programme through supervision, activities, structured play, and meaningful social interaction within a safe and nurturing environment.
π About Our Afterschool Programme
Our afterschool programme provides children with opportunities to develop important social, emotional, and life skills within a supportive, creative, and engaging environment. Unlike the structure of the morning school day, the afterschool setting allows greater flexibility for children to explore, collaborate, create, and express themselves freely.
Through long-term projects, structured activities, teamwork, and meaningful interactions, we encourage children to build confidence, independence, communication skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
Our staff play an important role in supporting children not only through supervision, but also by building positive relationships, encouraging social development, listening to studentsβ concerns, and creating an environment where every child feels valued, supported, and safe.
π Key Responsibilities
The After School Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the well-being, safety, engagement, and development of children aged 3β12 during the afterschool programme.
As outlined in the full Job Description, responsibilities include:
- Supervise and monitor children aged 3β12 throughout the afterschool programme
- Follow safeguarding procedures and ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times
- Organise and lead engaging indoor and outdoor activities, games, creative experiences, and structured play
- Encourage positive behaviour and respectful interactions amongst students
- Support children socially and emotionally within a nurturing environment
- Build positive relationships with students and encourage teamwork, confidence, and independence
- Engage children in long-term projects and meaningful group activities
- Support children with varying needs and abilities
- Mediate and resolve minor disputes calmly and fairly
- Assist with transitions, snack time, and daily routines
- Report incidents, concerns, or safeguarding matters promptly to the After School Supervision Coordinator
- Work collaboratively with the supervision team to ensure the smooth daily operation of the programme
β Candidate Profile
Required:
- Ability to communicate effectively within a team
- Positive, kind, energetic, and caring approach towards children
- Strong supervision and behaviour management skills
- Excellent knowledge of the English language, both verbal and written
- Ability to create a positive and engaging environment for children
- Previous experience working with children will be considered an advantage
- Degree or qualification in Education, Childcare, Psychology, Sports, Arts, Performing Arts, or a related field will be considered an advantage
π Working Hours
We are welcoming expressions of interest for our Junior School site for five (5) working days per week, with working hours either between 13:00β15:30 or 13:00β16:30.
πΌ Remuneration & Benefits
The gross monthly salary for the position is β¬550 for the full contractual working hours and on a pro rata basis in accordance with the agreed working schedule. Following two (2) years of continuous service in the position, the gross monthly salary will increase to β¬600, subject to satisfactory performance and continued employment in the role.
Generous time off aligned with the school calendar: enjoy extended paid time off when the school is closed, including 1 week in October, 1 week in February/March, 2 weeks at Easter, and 2 weeks at Christmas (as per the annual school calendar), in addition to other school/public holidays.
