Summer School Assistant Camp Leader

⏰ Working Hours: 07:15 - 16:00 (inclusive of 30 minutes break)
We are seeking two enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as the Summer School Assistant Camp Leader for the summer programme running from 30 June to 24 July 2026.
🔍 Key Responsibilities
As outlined in the full Job Description, your responsibilities will include:
General staffing arrangements and tasks

Assign correct number of staff

Assign appropriate staff to relative age group and subject

Using numbers to ascertain number of staff needed for the different age groups (younger ages require more staff) with groups

Ensure a list of supply teachers who can be called in case of absences.

Identify staff who will be sure to organize students and have them ready for pick up.

Ensure any staff who have requested to stay until 4pm (or whatever the later time is) are assigned appropriately.

Ensure all resources (books, stationary etc) and necessary equipment has been organized and is accounted for each week and ahead of time.

Preparation of Parent Cards

Organize and lead weekly meetings with staff and have regular communication with them through a chat group

Rules and Regulations explained and ensured

Order well in advance any needed items as well as handling them properly such as:
Teachers’ t-shirts Kids t-shirts Wristbands (if needed) -
The assistant camp leader is responsible for staying until the last child departs from the school premises and contacting any parents who are late for pick-up. They must also make sure the last gate used is locked behind them.
Junior School: The assistant camp leader are responsible for planning the extended day program and making sure there is sufficient staff.
Activities coordination
- Identify various Activities, in order to advertise accordingly. Large number of staff will need to be PE teachers with a percentage of Art, Fun science, music etc.
- Meet with appropriate team members to create Themes for each week. Use trips, resources, visits etc to compliment those Themes.
- Meet with appropriate team members to organize a very structured timetable, that will include a set number of children and a rotational timetable that will allow for canteen use by each group, free play, music rooms, pool etc ensuring no clashes.
Day-to-day administration
- Maintain programme records
- Daily attendance (sign in /out logbook)
- Incident reports
- Logbook documentation
- Communication with parents
- Phone calls
- Emails
- Newsletters
Health and Safety
- Ensure nurse is available and around
- First aid box stocked and available after coordination with the nurse
- Allergies etc are clearly communicated to the nurse and the canteen provider
- Safeguarding protocols to outsider providers communicated
- Ensure the correct number of cleaning staff are available.
- Ensure quality of the canteen provider by testing what is offered
- Lunch quality
- Healthy options (no fizzy drinks, crisps, chocolates etc)
- Daily / Weekly management of food orders and good communication with canteen
- Lifeguard (Senior School Site)

Required:
- Enthusiastic, responsible, and passionate about working with children
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to create a positive, safe, and inclusive environment
- Experience in education, youth programmes, or summer camps (preferred)
- Creativity and flexibility in planning engaging activities
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Good command of English (both spoken and written)
Desired:
- First aid training or certification (an advantage)
💼 Remuneration
Allowance for position will be €1825 gross.
